Camden Corporation Watch, a largely behind-the-scenes group of law enforcement and private security forces, is working harder than ever to coordinate a uniformed presence in the city's business centers.
The organization comprised of 42 participating entities encourages resource sharing. Camden Corporation Watch provides a channel for police, businesses and institutions to talk, share information and appraise each other of emerging public safety issues.
It also complements policing in parts of the city. Because of the cooperation, security guards patrol not just the businesses that hire them, but also the surrounding community.
At the time retired Chief Guy Still, of Rutgers University-Camden security and former President of Corporate Watch said, "This collaboration is a vital effort to improve information sharing between law enforcement and local businesses."
