Camden Corporation Watch, a largely behind-the-scenes group of law enforcement and private security forces, is working harder than ever to coordinate a uniformed presence in the city's business centers.
The organization comprised of 42 participating entities encourages resource sharing. Camden Corporation Watch provides a channel for police, businesses and institutions to talk, share information and appraise each other of emerging public safety issues.
It also complements policing in parts of the city. Because of the cooperation, security guards patrol not just the businesses that hire them, but also the surrounding community.
Retired Chief Guy Still, of Rutgers University-Camden security and head of Corporate Watch, said he is part of an effort to improve information sharing between forces.
